Biography
Mr. Jarvis began his legal career in Norfolk, Virginia where he practiced insurance and maritime defense until 1981. At that time, he joined the legal department of Johns Manville Corporation, where he supervised Manville's defense of personal injury asbestos litigation for the southern United States. He returned to private practice in 1984. Since then, he has been responsible for complex litigation involving construction, major personal injury and property damage claims. His practice focuses on defending construction defect lawsuits against general contractors, developers, subcontractors, and material suppliers. He also successfully defends products liability, fire cause and origin, medical products liability, toxic tort, and environmental litigation. Furthermore, he has worked as a mediator to resolve construction defect matters.
