Meet Gregg

Gregg’s civil litigation practice is focused on construction defect and payment disputes, personal injury, premises liability, and commercial litigation matters. He has a special emphasis on the defense of general contractors and subcontractors and coverage issues stemming from those matters.

Gregg has tried multiple bench and jury trials and arbitrations. He has also argued several times before the Colorado Court of Appeals.

Firm Service/History

Gregg became a partner of MGJ and part of its management team in 2014. For fourteen years prior to joining MGJ, Gregg’s practice included construction defect, personal injury, employment, general liability, and telecommunications litigation at well-respected Denver civil defense firms.

After graduating from Cal Poly Pomona with a political science degree and spending a few years as a haberdasher, Gregg attended the University of Denver, College of Law, graduating in 2000. While at DU, he worked as an intern for a criminal defense firm on a capital murder case.  Gregg was also student attorney at DU’s Student Law Office, representing clients in misdemeanor criminal matters and doing outreach to homeless and women’s shelters and senior centers. Gregg was active in moot court as a member of the ABA Trial Team and the Appellate Team. He also worked as an intern with the Tort Litigation Division of the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, assisting attorneys to defend the state and its agencies against civil claims.

Professional Activities

Gregg is admitted to practice law in Colorado, New York, the U.S. District Courts for Colorado and the Southern District of New York, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

He is a member of and serves on the Executive Board of the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association, including as CDLA’s President for 2017-18. Gregg has presented on a number of topics related to Colorado construction law and insurance coverage for construction-related losses.  He served as counsel to the board of the Communications Technology Professionals from 2002-2015.  Gregg is also a member of the American, Colorado, Denver & Arapahoe County Bar Associations, the Defense Research Institute, Claims Litigation Management, and the William E. Doyle Inn of Court.

Gregg frequently speaks on general insurance topics, construction defect law, and coverage issues for insurance industry and attorney groups.

Gregg holds an AV peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been selected as a “Super Lawyer” in Colorado for construction litigation.
